Preparing IKTVA Certification (Saudi Aramco New Requirement)

The program (Enhancing the Total Added Value of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) is an initiative of the national oil company (Saudi Aramco), which it launched in December 2015, which aims to build what is known as the “Saudi domestic resource” through the Saudi Aramco “IKTVA” initiative, which establishes the formation of components the local content of the oil and gas sector, supported by policies and regulatory measures that focus on qualifying the human element and advanced technology and using local resources in a large way.

Attention is paid to technology transfer and knowledge localization for the local workforce through strategic partnerships with foreign companies that have expertise, technology and financing. The approved local content in “IKTVA” is based on restricting purchases from Saudi suppliers and commercial entities, and working on managing local content issues for the Saudi oil and gas sector. The level of citizen participation in the existing commercial entities on the basis of (ownership, employment and management) The level of added value depends on the amount of local inputs in the product and the increase in the percentage of local purchases (is the product manufactured locally or is the service delivered locally).

The IKTVA program has become a prerequisite for doing business with Saudi Aramco
